What we can help with
A number that looks wrong. This is the one we most want to hear about. Tell us the page and the figure and we will check it against the source: the IRS revenue procedure, the SSA wage base announcement, or the state agency that sets it. In August 2026 a reader-style check of our own caught a calculator using the 2025 wage base of $176,100 instead of the 2026 figure of $184,500. If we are wrong we fix the page.
Where this comes from: SSA, 2026 COLA fact sheet (wage base set under 42 U.S.C. §430), checked 2026-08-01 · Social Security Act §230 (42 U.S.C. §430); incorporated by IRC §3121(a)(1) for wages and IRC §1402(b) for self-employment income.
Something that is unclear. If a guide left you still unsure, that is a fault in the guide.
A broken page or tool. Tell us the page and what you were doing.
What we cannot help with
We cannot advise on your specific tax situation. Not because we are being careful, but because doing it properly needs your whole return in front of us, and we are a publisher rather than your accountant. Anyone answering that question by email without seeing your figures is guessing.
We also cannot look up your IRS account, chase a refund, or contact an agency on your behalf. For those, the agency itself is the only route.
What to expect
We read everything. We reply to corrections and to anything that looks like a fault on our side. We do not always reply to general tax questions, for the reason above.
